The Tapestry Cottage is in Arana Hills, a leafy suburb in the north-west of Brisbane. Set in a peaceful bird - filled garden, the treasure trove of stitcher's delights housed within will keep any lover of needlecraft delighted for hours.

Patient loved ones can relax and while away the hours in the comfortable seating area in the garden, where "Cookie" Heather's beautiful English springer spaniel is always ready to make new friends.

Heather Belcher opened her first needlework store in 1981. She has 30 years' experience and has always taught all the classes held in her stores, so clients can rest assured they are receiving the best advice and assistance. Her friendly, innovative and expert approach to creative needlepoint design and stitching is well known both nationally and internationally. 

Heather's love and passion for all kinds  of needlecraft are obvious as she encourages her students and customers to think-and stitch-outside the boundaries of conventional design. Heather's wealth of knowledge and extensive stitching repertoire, as well as the vast selection of quality specialty threads is inspiring.

Creative needlework Classes are held every day except Thursday. Each Class is unique, with students given their choice of Hand painted, Screen printed and Counted patterns to facilitate the creation of their own personal work of art. Specialty threads, beads, silk ribbon and a multitude of creative stitches ensure that no two completed works are the same.

Heather holds regular Sunday workshops. Details of these are in the EVENTS section. Sunday Classes are held in the garden of The Tapestry Cottage and are relaxed, everyone has a great time and lunch is always served.

Heather Makes regular visits to the USA to source the very latest and greatest in needlework supplies.
